Without Rasad

  • Bloomberg — $24,000/seat. Won't compute PKR landed cost.
  • Refinitiv — PDF dump at 6am. Dead by 2pm.
  • WhatsApp — rumours move faster than prices.
  • Excel — breaks when a duty, FX, or freight assumption moves.

With Rasad

  • FCPO tick → terminal screen. Live when the feed is live.
  • Landed-cost inputs → one workflow. Beta, operator-verified.
  • DJ wire headline → visible in the desk view. Licensed feed.
  • Exchange universe → live-populated contracts first. Searchable.

What's on the screen

01

Live Bursa palm-oil rates

Live FCPO prices, the forward curve, and whether the market is open or closed — the first screen a Pakistani palm desk checks every morning.

02

Full Dow Jones news — not just headlines

Don't stop at the headline — open the full Dow Jones story right inside the terminal. Even when the wire reuses a code for a different story, you get the correct article, plus the last few days of news on tap.

03

Landed cost in PKR per maund

Work out your real cost — CFR, duty, and the dollar rate in one place, in rupees per maund. In beta now, checked against actual pay-orders.

04

Your own analyst desk

Short, plain notes on what's moving the market — written for refiners and importers in Pakistan, not for traders sitting in New York.

05

Alerts that matter to your desk

A heads-up when a big tweet or wire item moves CPO — duty changes (SROs), tenders, and weather. Each source switches on as we connect it.

06

SRO & tender watch

We track duty notifications (SROs) and large buyer tenders by hand at launch, with automatic alerts coming next.

Every number on the screen is traceable to its source — or it doesn't ship.

Why Rasad exists

Built for the Pakistan palm-oil desk.

Rasad was built for one trade: Pakistan palm oil. Local desks run on scattered Bursa screens, delayed headlines, WhatsApp forwards, and fragile spreadsheets.

The goal is simple: show the market clearly to Pakistani importers, refiners, brokers, and finance desks — without Bloomberg-level cost or irrelevant global clutter.

Rasad is billed yearly — Starter $300/year ($25/mo equivalent) and Medium $480/year ($40/mo equivalent), with a higher Max tier (request access) and custom Institute plans for desks and banks. Still nowhere near Bloomberg. If you trade this market and see something missing, tell us.

Questions

Does the feed go down during Ramadan or Eid?+
No. The exchange feed runs whenever BMD/MDEX is open. We add a market-hours indicator so you know when ticks are live vs settled.
How fast does the SBP rate update after a policy change?+
Rasad fetches the official SBP weighted-average USD/PKR (offer side) on demand from the State Bank page, and an operator verifies the landed-cost assumptions before any PKR/maund figure is shown. No rate is fabricated.
Can I use Rasad from outside Pakistan (VPN)?+
Yes. There is no geo-restriction. Rasad is built for the Pakistan palm-oil trade wherever it runs — including desks in Dubai, KL, Singapore, and London.
What is a maund? Why not just show MT?+
A maund is 40 kg — the unit Pakistani mandi and refinery-gate conversations use, so 1 metric ton = 25 maunds. The Pakistan local-price view shows both maund and metric-ton figures.
What happens during a FCPO limit-up / limit-down?+
Rasad shows the latest exchange state it has received and marks stale/offline states plainly. The calculator will not fabricate prices while the market is halted or closed.
Can I export data to PDF or Excel?+
Export is on the roadmap for Enterprise desks. The launch focuses on the live terminal, monitor, newswire reader, and the operator-verified Pakistan local-price desk.
How quickly do FBR SRO duty changes show up?+
At launch, SRO changes are operator-reviewed before they affect any landed-cost output. Automated FBR scraping and private-source alerts are the next release gate.
What is your uptime guarantee?+
Standard plans are launch access, not a formal SLA. Institute / desk terms (SLA, backup, support workflow) are handled directly under a custom contract.
Can I share a seat with a colleague?+
Starter, Medium, and Max are single-user seats. Multi-seat onboarding is handled through the Institute / desk plan.
Do you offer white-label for brokers or banks?+
Enterprise white-label is available as a scoped implementation, not a self-serve toggle. We will not promise custom infrastructure until requirements and data rights are reviewed.
How does billing work?+
Public plans are billed yearly: Starter $300/year ($25/mo equivalent) and Medium $480/year ($40/mo equivalent). Max is $999/year ($83/mo equivalent). Institute is a custom yearly contract. Existing legacy members keep their original access. Saved scenarios, watchlists, and alert rules stay with your account.
Why should I trust a new platform with my trading workflow?+
Rasad is conservative by design: licensed feeds where required, public source labels where applicable, no fake rows, and clear stale/offline states when an upstream feed is unavailable.
